Milan, September 26, 2024 — VITRUM25, the 25th edition of the international glass industry exhibition, is scheduled for September 16 to 19, 2025, at Fiera Milano (Rho) in Milan, Italy. The event is organized by GIMAV, an association affiliated with CONFINDUSTRIA, representing Italian suppliers of machinery, accessories, equipment, and specialty products for the glass processing sector.
With the slogan "At the Heart of Glass," the exhibition aims to be the industry's central hub, offering a unique platform for innovation, collaboration, and growth. Over 50 companies are expected to participate, with an exhibition area exceeding 5,000 square meters.
Italy's glass industry is a significant player in Europe, with a turnover of €96 billion, with an additional €3 billion from the machinery and technology sector for glass production. The industry employs 28,800 highly specialized workers, with a further 9,000 in the technology segment, contributing over €12.5 billion to the supply chain's revenue.
VITRUM25 will showcase advancements in photovoltaic glass, specialty glass, and architectural glass manufacturing, addressing the growing global demand for sustainable and energy-efficient solutions. The exhibition will also highlight the role of Italian innovation in the global glass market.
The 2023 growth of the machinery and technology industry for glass production and processing, with a turnover nearing €3 billion, underscores Italy's excellence in manufacturing and its strong international market presence, with exports making up two-thirds of the total turnover.
VITRUM25 promises to amplify synergies within the glass industry, with support from key national and international associations, including Assovetro, GIMAV, Glass Group, Glass for Europe, Abravidro, and Glaas Inc.
The event will also align with NetZero Milan, exploring themes of ecological transition and the pivotal role of glass in sustainability.
Parallel to the exhibition, Glass Week 2025 will offer a city-wide series of events, including a retrospective on the history of glassmaking in collaboration with the Italian committee of AIHV.
